ADCO Full Field Development involved increasing production from all three SAS Fields, Sahil, Asab and Shah, and providing facilities to cater for their operation until 2040.
In particular, ASAB Field Development Project objective included:
– Upgrading production from 280 MBOPD to 345 MBOPD.
– Accept production from Sahil, Shah, and other fields of 255 MBOPD.
– Export peak of 720 MBOPD of stock tank crude oil from ASAB CDS.
– Install produced water handling facilities to cater for a peak of 300 MBWPD (Phase I).

The objective of the Borouge 2 project was to triple the polyolefins manufacturing capacity of the Ruwais plant. Approximately US$ 5 billion was invested to enable Borouge to produce a total of 2 million tonnes of Borstar® polyolefins per year. The Borouge 2 project includes an additional ethane cracker, a third polyethylene unit, an olefins conversion unit (OCU) for converting ethylene to propylene, and two new polypropylene units, spearheading the company’s entrance into polypropylene production.
The plant involves the sweetening of feed gas and the production of sulphur pastilles. The raw gas is separated at a pig receiver and slug catcher and the feed gas is sent to the Amine Treatment Facility where it is measured and analyzed then sent to the Sulphur Recovery Plant, storage, and loading areas.
Major Scope and Quantities Include:
145,000 Inch Dia of Piping
2,400 Tons of Steel Structure
3,500 Tons of Static & Rotating Equipment erection
Electrical & Instrumentation Works (400 KM of cables and cable trays, 3,000 instruments etc.)
The facilities at Ruwais Refinery process 140,000 BPSD of crude and 280,000BPSD of Condensate.
The project aimed to modernise existing units and add new units to meet quality requirements for Unleaded Gasoline (ULG) and Low Sulphur Gas Oil (LSGO).
It involved installation of new process units, new utility units, revamping of existing units, and installation of new and revamping associated Electrical, Instrumentation and Control Facilties.
